Ram 2500

If you’re in the market for a heavy-duty pickup truck that’s equally appropriate for cross-town commuting as it is for cross-country hauling, the 2022 RAM 2500 should be at the top of your list.

This reliable and hardworking truck is packed with the latest in-car technology, comfort, and safety features and it’s now available here at Best Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM. Here is a side-by-side comparison with the Chevy Silverado 2500.

Performance and Capability

If you’re looking to buy a powerful pickup truck like the RAM 2500, chances are that you’re interested in hauling heavy loads and towing boats or trailers.

First of all, the available 6.7-liter Cummins® Turbodiesel engine provides exceptional power and capability without compromising efficiency. This engine can tow a remarkable 20,000 pounds and carry a payload of 3,160 pounds, thanks to the 850 lb-ft of torque.

If you choose to opt for gasoline rather than diesel, the 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine comes standard on the new RAM truck. It features fully electronic operation and on-the-fly shift mapping. It can tow 17,540 pounds and carry a payload of 4,010 pounds.

While the 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 also has an available diesel engine, it falls short at just 18,500 pounds of towing capacity. Its standard V8 gasoline engine has decent horsepower, but it also falls short with a towing capacity of 14,500 pounds and a payload of 3,979 pounds.

Connectivity and Technology

Another area in which the 2022 RAM 2500 excels is connectivity and towing technology. One standout feature is the Digital Rearview Mirror with Tow Mode, which features an LCD monitor that, when turned on, provides a real-time video stream from a rear-facing camera.

Unfortunately, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 doesn’t have anything that’s comparable to this feature.

Find out why else the 2022 RAM 2500 is a great pick by taking a test drive here at Best Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM.
