Explore the Features of the 2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition
The much sought-after 2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Editions are some of the most exciting models to roll out of the factory. To commemorate the Challenger’s place in muscle car history, these limited editions remind us why we fell in love with the pony in the first place. Here’s a run-down of what to expect from the Challenger 50th Anniversary Editions:
Limited Edition Trims
The 50th Anniversary Edition will be difficult to find, as Dodge is limiting the number of models. The edition is available on the GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and the R/T Scat Pack Widebody. It will also be available in seven colors: Gold Rush, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, Frostbite, F8 Green, Go Mango, and TorRed.
There will be 70 units per color per trim level for a total of 1,960 50th Anniversary Challengers. Here are the updates you’ll find on one of these editions versus the standard trim level it modifies:
In addition to the heritage-inspired colors, these special-edition 2020 Dodge Challengers will have satin black-painted hoods, rooftops, and decklids for a color-contrasting charm. They also get edition-specific 20-inch wheels, illuminated Air-Catcher headlamps, and 50th Anniversary badges for the exterior.
Inside, you’ll find a real carbon-fiber instrument panel and console bezels with copper wire accents. The white-faced gauges have yellow accents, and the heated and ventilated front seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather-trimming and Alcantara fabric with sepia stitching.
Inside and out, the 50th Anniversary Challenger brings together the best of its predecessor’s style with its updated, modern performance equipment.
Outstanding Power and Performance
The GT is equipped with the entry-level 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that delivers 303 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. The R/T is equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine that produces 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. If you want the highest-performing special-edition Challenger, the R/T Scat Pack comes standard with a 392 HEMI V-8 engine that packs 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque.
The R/T models all come standard with a slick-shifting six-speed manual transmission and the GT has an eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers a smooth-shifting experience. You’ll get either the 13.6-inch large brake system or the upgraded four-piston Brembo brakes on the Scat Pack. In short, the 2020 Challenger gives you everything you need to create the exhilarating ride we’ve come to expect from its name.
High Tech Capability
Using the Challenger’s center-stack-mounted touch screen, you can keep track of how you and your muscle car are performing. The Performance Pages program gives you in-depth information about your driving experiences, such as the amount of G-force you’re creating, lap timers, engine performance, and more. With this system, you can also customize some settings for how your engine, steering, throttle, and the transmission responds to action, so you can fine-tune your Challenger experience to fit your driving style.
