Check Out the 2019 Jeep Compass

October 10th, 2019 by

For a small SUV, the 2019 Jeep Compass is deceptively spacious inside, giving it the feel of a much bigger car. It has great all-around ability with nimble handling for city driving, the comfort and features that make highway driving a pleasure, and Jeep’s legendary off-road capability. Four trim levels are available — Sport, Latitude, Trailhawk, and Limited. Here are some of the features that make the Compass perfect for your next adventure.

Interior Design

The Compass seats five people in comfort and, with a full complement of passengers there is 27.2 cubic feet of luggage space. Folding the 60/40 split rear seats gives you 58.8 cubic feet of cargo space. For carrying long items, the front passenger seat back folds flat. The cargo space has additional underfloor storage for smaller items and valuables.

In the stylish cabin of the Sport trim, you’ll find cloth upholstery, cruise control, a 3.5-inch multi-information display, dual-zone climate control, and keyless entry and start. Latitude models have a leather-trimmed steering wheel, while Trailhawk offers unique interior features to match its rugged exterior. It also has leather-trimmed seating, ambient lighting, and a 7-inch color multi-information display. Limited trim has perforated leather seating with power driving seat and heated front seats.

Power and Performance

All Compass trims are powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Power is transferred to the front or all four wheels by a six-speed manual transmission in Sport and Latitude trims and a six-speed automatic transmission in Trailhawk and Limited models. When equipped with the available towing kit, all-wheel drive models can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

When your adventures take you into the wilderness, all-wheel drive Compass models can handle almost anything to get you where you want to be. However, when the going gets really rough, you might need the AWD only Trailhawk which beats other small SUVs hands down. It has been awarded the coveted Trail Rated badge for its superior ground clearance, traction, maneuverability, articulation, and water fording ability.

The Trailhawk’s Selec-Terrain AWD system has settings for snow, sand, mud, and rock to get you over any surface. It features a 20-to-one crawl ratio, and hill descent control. The rear axle disconnect system can switch seamlessly between four- and two-wheel drive for improved economy when AWD isn’t required.

The Sport’s multimedia system features smartphone connectivity, voice recognition with Bluetooth, a media hub with USB and auxiliary inputs, a 7-inch touch-screen, and six-speaker audio. Driver assistance features include electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, all speed traction control, ABS, and rain brake support.

Trailhawk adds an 8.4-inch touch-screen, and satellite radio. Available technology options, depending on the model, include blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure alert with steering assistance, full-speed collision alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
