A fully capable cargo van, the 2020 Ram Promaster is loaded with everything you need for your business, life, or both. Various sizes and models are available to perfectly suit your needs. Check out what to expect from the 2020 Ram Promaster.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
You’ll have five trim levels to choose from, starting with the 1500. This base option comes with the essentials, including exterior features like one right rear manual sliding door, 16-inch wheels, folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and 50/50 split rear doors with a 180-degree swing.
Upgrade to the Promaster 2500 or 2500 Window Van for the same base exterior features but a longer wheelbase option of 159 inches compared to the 1500’s 118-inch base trim. Both the 3500 and 3500 Window Van offer a high roof extended wheelbase option that the others don’t.
Lots of exterior perks are available with each of these models, including a chrome grille, alloy wheels, and heated side mirrors. With each of these models, you’ll also have options for a longer or shorter wheelbase and a high or low roof. Basically, you’ll have no problem creating the perfect 2020 Promaster for your business or family.
Engine (Power)
The 2020 Promaster 1500, 2500, and 3500 all come with the same engine. A 280-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 gas engine provides 260 pound-feet of torque using a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual features. The Promaster is considered an ideal vehicle for towing with its 5,100-pound towing capacity.
Performance
A light and responsive four-wheel-drive system delivers a smooth ride even as you carry heavy payloads in the 2020 Promaster. You’ll have a 4,680-pound payload maximum to work with, so you can load up this van’s ample space with whatever you need. Opt for the available trailer hitch to make towing even easier.
Ram’s electronic stability control system helps drivers maintain their direction and traction even on slippery driving surfaces. A hill start assistance system gives the Promaster the power and boost it needs to get up steep hills while carrying heavy loads.
Interior
Depending on the wheelbase you choose, you’ll be looking at varying amounts of cargo space. The shortest wheelbase, the 118-inch option offers an 8-foot cargo length and 6-foot width. The medium 136-inch wheelbase ups that length to 10 feet. When you choose the longest wheelbases, you’ll get 12 feet in cargo length with the regular option and 13 feet with the extended option.
Ram’s Upfit guide will help you design the cargo space of your Promaster to perfectly fit your needs. Choose from packages like HVAC, Delivery, Plumbing, and more. You can also add any accessories you need like ladder racks, safety partitions, and refrigerant racks.
Safety Features
Front air bags for the driver and passenger will keep you and your partner safe in the event of a collision. Cargo tie downs in the rear area will help ensure that your stuff stays put and doesn’t become a safety hazard to passengers. An available rear park assist system with a backup camera will help you get in and out of spaces without a scratch.
